Yebel Gallegos

Yebel is a dance artist from El Paso, Texas. He played an important role in the founding of Cressida Danza Contemporánea in Yucatán, MX. While in Cressida Danza he served as a dancer, company teacher, rehearsal director, and as academic coordinator for the Yucatán Conservatory of Dance.

In the US, he has had the fortune to perform with companies; Dance Theatre X, Sharir + Bustamante Danceworks, and Nickerson-Rossi Dance. Yebel currently resides in Salt Lake City, Utah, where aside from holding a full-time position with Ririe-Woodbury Dance Company, he also involves himself in free lance work with local artist and teaching special population groups in the community. He earned a BFA in Dance from the University of Texas at Austin and also graduated from the prestigious Delfos Dance Company’s school, the Mazatlán Professional School of Dance in Mexico.

Yebel has performed pieces from artists such as; Doug Varone (US), Twyla Tharp (US), Roberto Olivan (Spain), Michael Foley (US), Raja Feather Kelly (US), Claudia LaVista (MX), Lourdes Luna (MX), Paula Gonzalez (Chile), Charles Anderson (US). Yebel has traveled as a performer to Asia, Europe and Latin America, and has taught dance throughout Asia, Mexico, Chile, and the United States. Yebel joined the company in 2013.
