Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Access

Dance is for Everybody

Ririe-Woodbury Dance Company is dedicated to pursuing ongoing inclusion across race, gender, culture, spirituality, identity, age, ability, and experience. Dance is a timeless form of human expression and inspiration, and through dance, we are committed to fostering equity, diversity, access, and inclusion for all. The Company stands against racism and continues to engage in meaningful internal dialogue to make measurable changes to our policies, procedures, and programming to meet all of these goals.

Outlined action items will be listed here in the coming months as we work towards outlining and pursuing measurable goals.

Land Acknowledgement

Ririe-Woodbury Dance Company recognizes that it rehearses, performs, and continues its educational and outreach work on the stolen lands of the Shoshone, Paiute, Goshute, and Ute Tribes. As unlawful colonization continues to this day, we are aware that we occupy this space illegitimately and realize that this land rightly belongs to the original people who are still here. Our organization recognizes the void of representation experienced by these and other indigenous peoples and are committed to empowering change.

As we add this initiative to our company’s efforts to create a more equitable and accessible structure for all, we encourage you to join us by finding out for yourself about the land on which you reside and to whom it truly belongs. Please visit native-land.ca and commit to finding ways you can support the indigenous people in your community.

If you have a particular concern or comment regarding Ririe-Woodbury's commitment to these values, please email us at
