Organization: Established in 1964, the Company works to further contemporary dance as an accessible and valued art form, through performances of original and commissioned works, and dance education for all ages. Ririe-Woodbury serves more than 65,000 artists and audience members each year.
The position offers an opportunity to work in a small, nationally renowned arts organization. You will work closely with other arts groups, educators, government entities, local businesses, and philanthropic organizations. It is an opportunity to work with a company that makes a positive contribution to contemporary dance and the arts community.
Responsibilities: This position offers a variety of responsibilities, including: developing and implementing marketing and public relations strategies for season performances, fundraisers, educational events, and workshops; basic graphic design; writing and directing web content; supervising print material production, mail & email lists; social media management and strategy; content development coordination.
Preferred Qualifications: Two years marketing or PR experience; a Bachelor’s Degree in marketing/communications or applicable field; strong writing skills a must; computer proficiency in all MS Office applications, Adobe Photoshop, InDesign, Premiere and Illustrator; experience with social media and web content management; knowledge in computer troubleshooting appreciated; planning and multitasking skills; must be a team player; and the ability and willingness to work on a variety of projects in a small group with overlapping responsibilities. Video and photo editing a plus, but not required.
Compensation: $23-$25 Pay per hour 15-20 hours per week.
No benefits included
Hours of operation: Mon-Fri 8am-5pm and some weekends.

Marketing/PR Director Detailed Job Description
The Marketing/PR Director is responsible for the development and implementation of Marketing and Public Relations in coordination with the Executive and Artistic Directors, and staff. This person’s primary responsibility is to maintain and increase attendance at Ririe-Woodbury functions with the secondary responsibility of providing staff support in an office management role.
The Company’s performing season runs from September to April and generally includes three to four Rose Wagner shows (September, January, and April), student matinees, a fundraising event (March/April), and various summer workshops in July/August. In addition to: four Meet the Choreographer Series; open company classes; open rehearsals and other community engagements.
Detailed responsibilities fall into a variety of categories and are as follows:
Marketing
- Develop and implement comprehensive marketing strategies
- Develop and maintain company’s brand identity working with company Executive Director, Artistic Director and outside advertising agency (if applicable).
- Supervise and report marketing budget
- Coordinate production and placement of all advertising, including: print, radio, television, trade, and other promotions
- Coordinate regular mailings and e-newsletters
- Write copy for season brochures, programs, postcards, email newsletters, website, and other marketing collateral.
- Coordinate printing and distribution of marketing collateral, including: programs, posters, postcards, flyers, invitations, banners, etc.
- Provide marketing materials, logos, photos, etc. to others as necessary.
- Manage social media presence on a variety of online platforms
- Write copy, design and distribute summer workshop brochure. Works directly with Artistic Director and Education Director.
Public Relations
- Act as liaison with press contacts to procure print, radio, and TV coverage.
- Write and distribute press releases for company performances, workshops, community performances, and any newsworthy happenings
- Schedule interviews and photo shoots
- Contact universities and public schools regarding applicable company events
- Collaborate with other organizations on joint marketing or PR efforts
- Build relationships with board members to promote grassroots advocacy
- Attend local and fellow organization run events to build Company’s network
Website & Graphic Design
- Website content management (Joomla content management system)– including: updating event information, photo gallery, company information, etc.
- Work with outside agency on season images (if applicable)
- Basic graphic design not fulfilled by graphic artist. For example: workshop brochures and registration forms, event signage, grant reports, newsletters, print ads, flyers, etc.
Performances and Audience Development
- Attend local performances and assist other staff members when needed
Administrative Support
- Design and order merchandise
- Answer phones and answer patron questions while in office
- Assist other staff members with projects as needed
