RIRIE-WOODBURY DANCE COMPANY is looking for one dancer for the 2025 - 2026 Season. All professional-level dancers are encouraged to audition.

Seeking one experienced dancer who is technically strong, stylistically versatile, and creative to join this 6 member contemporary dance company. Ririe-Woodbury will offer a yearly contract with a starting minimum of $700 per week, 41 weeks work, July - June. Ririe-Woodbury offers fully subsidized health insurance, partial coverage for dental and vision insurance, and a health savings account. Season contracts also include paid time off, paid bereavement leave, jury duty leave, and paid voting time.

The position includes three home season repertory performances of new and recent commissions by guest artists from around the world as well as the company Artistic Director. Position responsibilities include performing, teaching, educational engagements, touring, community outreach programs, and some administrative support.

Ririe-Woodbury asks that only dancers who are interested and available apply for the position. The Company encourages people of all identities and backgrounds to apply. Applicants will be considered on a case by case basis. Please note that this position requires extensive partnering including repeated overhead lifting.

There are two rounds to this process:

‍

ROUND 1 - OPEN REGISTRATION

To be considered for the position, dancers must submit their application online. Applications must include: a résumé, headshot, and contact information for two references. You must also upload 2 videos:

‍

• Video #1: introduction stating your name, telling us briefly about your dance background and who you are, and introducing the video solo submitted in Video #2 – no more than 2 minutes

‍

• Video #2: a solo which shows your technical ability, no more than 3 minutes. This can be from a performance, or filmed in a studio setting. Improvisation and Dance for Cameras are not preferred. Form fitting clothing is encouraged. These do NOT need to be highly produced or edited videos. We prefer them to be shot IN LANDSCAPE ORIENTATION.

Incomplete applications will not be considered.

Please note: We understand that everyone has different access to space and technology. If you are unable to find a studio space to record yourself in, feel free to modify as needed in the space available to you. This can be a space in a home or apartment. You could film outdoors. Barefoot is preferred but please wear socks or tennis shoes as needed. Ideally, you have access to a camera to film yourself on. Please film yourself horizontally/landscape, NOT vertically/portrait. We are not looking for high quality video. It’s about your dancing, not video quality and/or filming skills.

The round 1 application process will close on Saturday, March 15, 11:59 PM MST. All materials listed above must be submitted by this date. Early submissions are strongly encouraged.

ROUND 2 - INVITED IN-PERSON AUDITION

Round 1 applicants will be screened and selected applicants will be invited to attend an in-person audition in Salt Lake City. For this round of the audition, dancers need to be prepared to take class, learn repertory, improvise, and be involved in a creative process.

Dancers will be notified via email by Monday, March 25, 2025 if they are invited to attend round 2 of the process.

The in-person callback will take place Saturday, April 26, 2025 in Salt Lake City, UT.
