The winter season of RE-MIX features three thought-provoking dances. Returning to the Salt Lake City stage is Raja Feather Kelly’s Scenes for an Ending, a poetic love letter to the past and future with an original score by Emily Wells. The Company will premiere Kellie St. Pierre’s The Rate We Change, a piece for six dancers with a human-powered spinning platform, exploring adaptation in a changing world with music by Daniel Clifton. Rounding out the program is jo Blake’s coincidences, when we meet up, a reflective trio on radical self-love and personal connection, accompanied by Trevor Price’s original score.

Synthesis is an electrifying dance event celebrating the legacy of Ririe-Woodbury and their visionary co-founders. This annual concert highlights the profound influence of Joan Woodbury and Shirley Ririe, whose former dancers and students have become esteemed educators. The performance unites emerging young artists with dedicated dance teachers, featuring dynamic choreography performed by talented high school dance companies and creations from Ririe-Woodbury's High School Choreographic Residencies. The event also includes an invigorating excerpt from Ririe-Woodbury’s repertory, promising to propel the dance community toward a dynamic future of creativity and innovation.

Our Meet the Choreographer Series is a unique opportunity to engage in conversation about the dance making process. Go behind the scenes with the internationally-renowned commissioned artists that are brought here to Salt Lake City to create brand new work for the company. This is a special chance to converse with these artists and the Ririe-Woodbury Company Dancers on their process and experiences. These open rehearsals, showings and moderated discussions endeavor to empower and educate by shedding light on what goes on in an artist’s mind during a creative period.
Ririe-Woodbury Dance Company is pleased to announce the inaugural CHOREOGRAPHIC CANVAS. This new annual series seeks to identify and select a choreographer to commission a new dance work. Choreographers are invited to submit an application for review and selection by a panel of esteemed dance professionals. This new work will be premiered as part of Ririe-Woodbury Dance Company’s regular performing season.
